Title: Tax Intern
Reports to: Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing and Tax Technology Lead
Location: Norwalk, CT (Hybrid)
Position Overview:
The Corporate Tax Intern will work in one of the tax functions including international tax, foreign tax provision, and transfer pricing. The role will have a primary focus on technology, and how it can support these functions. This can include use of industry-specific software to improve tax processes, as well as better leveraging standard tools such as Microsoft. The intern will also work closely with senior finance and operations team members globally to assist with corporate tax research, forecasting, and reporting. The Terex Tax and Finance teams are customer-focused groups of professionals who work collaboratively with Terex, its vendors, and customers to create standard work, stable processes, and value-added change. We use lean principles and prevention to create an environment in which defects are not created, accepted, or passed on. Great emphasis is placed on the role of each team member and the ability of every individual to drive continuous improvement.
Summer internships will begin Monday, June 3, 2024 – August 16, 2024 on a 40-hour work week schedule, with potential to extend or hire.
Key Responsibilities:
Quantitative data analysis
Assist with creating and providing required work support and documentation
Assist in review and reconciliations
Initiate, track, and review data requests
Coordinate communications with people from different countries, backgrounds, and idiosyncrasies
Provide assistance with special projects as they arise
Required Qualifications
Junior or Senior year standing (as of Fall 2024) at an accredited 4 year university/college
Pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree in Accounting, or a related field
Minimum of a cumulative GPA of 3.0 required to submit resume to Terex Career Database
Desire to build a career in Tax
Track record of demonstrable accomplishments in school and at work
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in using general Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
Previous experience with SharePoint a plus
Excellent analytical skills
A commitment to detail, accuracy, and follow-through is essential for success
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
Self-motivated with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple time-sensitive tasks
Ability to work collaboratively with employees across functions and geographies
Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision
The compensation for this position is $25/hr for undergraduate interns and $27/hr for graduate or returning interns. This position is eligible for holiday pay but is not eligible for benefits.
