Student Organizations

Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) is a National Honor Society, founded 2018, dedicated to commemorating the academic achievements of First-Generation college students who have risen above adversity to break the educational attainment barrier within their families. The University of Connecticut Gamma Delta Chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha was chartered Fall 2021, and currently has over 200 active and 78 alumni inductees who have illustrated a commitment to academic excellence and community enrichment. Induction is annual, and qualifying candidates for acceptance must ascertain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and have attended the University of Connecticut (any campus) for at least two consecutive semesters. Transfer students are also eligible after one completed semester at any campus of the University of Connecticut with the above GPA requirements. The mission of Alpha Alpha Alpha is to empower, inspire, and serve the interests of first-generation college students. We provide training, resources, and opportunities for passionate students to identify issues within their communities and work to make higher education more accessible. In serving our mission we are committed to building a more equitable society for all people of all identities and backgrounds to have the support they need to thrive.
