Business Leaders of UConn (BLU) was established in order to provide a visible community for Black Indigenous students of color in the business school at UConn. We provide a space where students can discuss social issues that the BIPOC populations face in the intersections of the business world. Opportunities to network with accomplished UConn alum employed in diverse business fields will be accessible through our mentoring program. We will assist students interested in prestigious internships and full-time positions through coaching from experienced upperclassmen to successfully recruit for exclusive positions.
Overall, our organization hopes to tackle issues regarding low retention of Black and Brown students in the business school stemming from the lack of resources, mentorship and community that white students in the business school often benefit from.
