Yes! Networking can be an essential part of the career development process. It can expose you to new opportunities, connections, and options. It’s important to be strategic with networking, though, so you don’t feel burnt out. 

Who you network with should depend on your goals. Consider why you are looking to leverage your network and what sort of person may help you. Remember it may be someone you’re already connected with or it may be time to branch out; both can be incredibly impactful. 

Having a LinkedIn profile allows you to have a professional online presence unlike any other social media platform. Even if you do not use LinkedIn regularly, having a profile allows others to find and engage with you 24/7. We do not recommend paying for LinkedIn premium, as the features are generally not beneficial enough for the cost. 

Yes! The Center has a professional headshot photobooth located in our Storrs office. The photobooth is available on a drop-in basis to all visitors, including students and alumni, during our regular business hours.
