Six UConn Stamford students are among the 20 Spectrum Scholars chosen by Spectrum for its newest class of scholars. The month of November is Native American Heritage Month! To celebrate, today we are highlighting U.S. Representative Sharice Davids. Representative Davids is the first Native American woman elected to represent Kansas’s 3rd congressional district, the first openly LGBTQ+ person elected to the U.S. Congress, and one of the two first Native American women to be elected to Congress, winning the 2018 Congressional elections in Kansas and being inaugurated in January 2019.
