About InStep
Infosys InStep is an award-winning global internship program for bright technology students who want to build meaningful, real-world solutions. Over 8 weeks, interns work in collaborative teams to turn open-ended business challenges into working AI prototypes, supported by experienced mentors, technical experts, and regular sprint reviews.
Potential Project Areas
· Build multi-agent review systems that evaluate complex documents, check compliance, and surface issues with explainable confidence signals
· Develop fraud and anomaly detection workflows that combine real-time monitoring with RAG-powered policy reasoning
· Create digital twins with AI assistants that use sensor data and technical documentation to recommend next-best actions
· Design intelligent intake agents that convert messy, multi-format inputs into validated, structured records
· Architect agentic data pipelines that map, validate, and migrate data across schemas while escalating ambiguous cases
· Prototype conversational coordination agents that translate natural-language requests into matches, plans, or recommendations
What You’ll Do
· Prototype end to end: Build across the UI, API/middleware layer, database, and deployment flow
· Work with real data: Integrate telemetry, transaction, document, or reference data into practical AI workflows
· Communicate the story: Create clear technical documentation and stakeholder-ready presentations
· Own the sprint: Plan work, divide responsibilities, adapt quickly, and demo progress at regular checkpoints
What You’ll Need
· Strong programming fundamentals in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
· Exposure to LLM applications, prompting, tool use, or agent frameworks such as LangChain
· Understanding of web app architecture, including frontend, backend/API, and database layers
· Curiosity to learn and apply tools such as vector databases, REST APIs, and containerization
