What Does a Career Coach Do?
We support and guide you in exploring your career goals and/or developing plans to achieve them. Whether you know exactly where you’re headed, are unsure where to start, or are somewhere in between, we’re here to help you move forward.
We know that every student brings their own story, experiences, strengths, and goals to each appointment, and our goal is to support you in an informed, honest, and thoughtful way.Our approach honors the many personal, professional, and societal factors that contribute to career decisions.
Whether we meet one time or many, we listen deeply, ask meaningful questions, and tailor our support in a way that sets you up to continue your journey beyond our conversation(s).We also respect your privacy, act with integrity, and refer you to other resources when something is outside our scope. Your success is a team effort, and we appreciate being part of that team!

Prepare for Career Coaching
Visit our vast array of online career resources, as many preliminary topics are introduced on the website and can provide the foundation for the appointment. We recommend looking at the Career Topics under the How Do I… section found in the Main Navigation Menu.
Upload documents and/or compile questions in advance to help your Career Coach prepare for the conversation, especially if you have a specific topic.
Plan to get yourself ready for your appointment about 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. For phone appointments, make sure you are in a quiet space with good reception. For video appointments, make sure you are logged onto your computer and you are connected to the internet.
Connecting with your Career Coach
