As a part of Youth Development and Education through Community Outreach at UConn, we serve the local community by building relationships with 5th through 8th grade students at Mansfield Middle School. We foster connections by tutoring and mentoring students, either 1-on-1 or within small groups. We assist with homework assignments and upcoming projects in all academic areas. We require a semester-long commitment of about one hour a week, with transportation to the middle school provided. Sessions take place multiple times throughout the week to accommodate individuals’ varying schedules. You will gain valuable experience working as an academic mentor and fostering positive relationships.
