The Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students is an organization that aims to supply the knowledge and skills pre-health students of color need in order to become competitive applicants for health related professional schools and to be able to handle various experiences in the field that are specific to minority professionals.
There is a pattern that health professionals of color are more likely to work in inner-city/urban areas, so the goal of the organization is to increase the number of working minority health professionals in order to reduce the ethnic health disparities that plague certain communities.
