Campus Involvement

While you are studying at UConn it is a great time to try new things. By getting involved in college and making the effort to meet others and participate in college life, you are likely to open up new opportunities for yourself and have a more rewarding experience.

Here are some examples of how students have been able to develop or enhance their competencies through various on-campus activities:

  • Lixuan enhanced their technology competency by participating in HackUConn, where they utilized their programming and coding skills to assist with innovative solutions to today’s challenges. They also volunteered time to assist the Rainbow Center with their website development.
  • Shane enhanced his  professionalism and career and self-development competencies by attending monthly meetings for the Business Management Society to listen to guest speakers on the topic of standards and professional dress expectations in the industry that he plans to pursue a career in.

If you are interested in sharing your own experience with us please email theodore.menounos@uconn.edu. Sharing your competency development inspires other students to think about where and how they can gain competencies within and beyond UConn.

There are numerous opportunities to enhance the NACE competencies right on campus. With hundreds of clubs and organizations at your fingertips, there is something for everyone.
