The Center for Career Development provides career services for  UConn Masters and PhD students and postdoctoral scholars. If you are interested in pursuing a range of professional options, the Center for Career Development has workshops, events and online resources to help you:

  • enhance self-knowledge;
  • clarify career aspirations;
  • prepare your networking and professional materials for various career pathways;
  • research companies, organizations and industries to uncover jobs;
  • connect with employers and employment opportunities both in-person and on-line.

 

The Center for Career Development staff can guide you with all aspects of exploring careers and searching for jobs within or beyond academia. The services include one-to-one advising, individualized CV, résumé, and cover letter review, and a variety of presentations and events to support your career exploration and job search. Consider developing the habit of periodically engaging in our offerings throughout your academic journey.

*Versatile PhD is an online resource and community for STEM, humanities, and social science doctoral students to explore, identify, and prepare for careers with businesses, organizations, and agencies. For access, please login with your NetID and password. After successfully authenticating yourself with that information you will be taken to the Versatile PhD login page. If it is your first time on the VPhD site you will be prompted to create a member account. If you already have an account with VPhD you may sign-in as usual. There are discussion forums, meetup groups, job postings and content sections where individuals share first-person stories about their work in a variety of careers fields.
