Micro Internships
-
Micro-internships are project based, short-term supervised experiences that provide students (undergraduate and graduate, as well as recent alums) with skills needed for traditional internships, co-ops, and full-time jobs. They can be competitive, so be sure to review details carefully before applying. Meet with a career coach if you have any questions about how to get started.
- Parker Dewey – Paid, short-term project-based work
- Catch a Fire – Short-term, unpaid, project work for non-profits
- Forage – Free to students: Virtual Work Experience Programs/Mini Courses from Top Companies
- Handshake – Employers are starting to post these types of opportunities in the Handshake platform too. Consider searching using keyword like ‘short-term,’ ‘weeks,’ or ‘winter’ to find them.
- U21 International Micro-internships – Students work with peers from across the globe, sharing knowledge and expertise while immersing themselves in a commercial organization. Occurring 3-4 times a year, virtual, lasting two weeks
- Create your own! Reach out to a company or organization, small business, etc., and see if there is any short-term project work available that you can help them complete.
