UConn has over 70 majors that offer course credit for an internship. Review the lists below and click on a major for more details. Majors marked with an * offer credit to students outside the major. You may also be able to receive credit for an off-campus internship through the Center for Career Development’s one-credit internship course and zero-credit transcript notation. As of Summer 2020, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, virtual internships or ones of a shorter duration will be taken under consideration as long as the learning objectives for the course can be satisfied. If this option is needed, explain in the paperwork when applying for the course.
- Deadlines: Internship credit must be approved before the start of the semester/summer session for which you hope to earn credit.
- Cost: Students are always responsible for any fees or charges associated with earning academic credit. If an undergraduate student elects to earn credit for an internship, they will be charged tuition based on the number of credits earned. Information on fees for summer internships can be found here: https://summersession.uconn.edu/dates-fees/
- Note: Academic credit does not equal compensation. Only the University can determine if your internship opportunity is eligible for credit, not the employer.
Contact the Center for Career Development internship team at internships@uconn.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
